Lockdown Loss of Mojo :-(

Hi Guys

The more observant amongst you may have noticed a lack of postings for Technique Tuesday and Funky Fold Friday recently 😞  Well, since the launch of the new 2020/21 Annual Catalogue I have had a SERIOUS loss of Mojo, which I'm sure is not being helped by being in lockdown for 3 months!  So I just wanted to pop on and say sorry for the absence - I am still alive and kicking πŸ˜‰ but need to give my Mojo a boot up the rear end πŸ˜›

I'm still officially 'shielding' until 1st August but can't see life going back to anything like 'normal' for me until after Christmas - but I REALLY hope my Mojo comes back before then!!!  Please bear with me and I'll be back as soon as I can.

Fabric Face Coverings Available To Order

Hi Guys

A small selection of our fabric range has arrived and I've started making Face Coverings in preparation for the changes in the rules for travelling on Public Transport in England from Monday 15th June. More fabric choices are on their way - including some more masculine designs as well as for the young people. Hopefully they will be with me early next week.

The masks are available in 5 sizes:-
Small Youth - 10cm (4") x 13.5cm (5 1/4") *
Youth - 11.5cm (4 1/2") x 15cm (6") *
Small Adult - 11.5cm (4 1/2") x 16cm (6 1/2") *
Adult - 13cm (5") x 17.5cm (7") *
Large Adult - 13cm (5") x 20cm (8") *
* To find the right size for you, measure from the bridge of your nose to the front of your ear - this is the first measurement. Next measure from the bridge of your nose to under your chin - this is the second measurement. Order the closet size to your two measurements.

The Face Coverings are worn using Ear Elastics - I will be adding Plastic Ear Savers to our range very soon which can help prevent chaffing behind the ears.

The sides of the lining are left open to allow you to add a filter if required. I do not sell these, but you can find lots of options online at sites such as Amazon, Ebay etc.

Legally I have to let you know that these are NOT medical grade face masks and in no way claim to prevent the wearer from catching Covid-19 or any other infection.

Prices.

Youth sizes are £3.50 each or 3 for £9.50 (must be the same size but can be different fabric designs). Adult sizes are £4.00 each or 3 for £11 (again they must be the same size but can be different fabric designs).

Until I have set the shop up fully, if you want to place an order, send me an email with details of which fabric(s) and size(s) you want and I'll contact you with payment details. Postage & Packaging will be charged at cost.

Photos of the fabrics currently available are below - I'll add to these when others arrive.

Positive Thoughts 'Class In The Mail' Week 4 - Gorgeous Grape

Today was the last of my Positive Thoughts 'Class In The Mail' Zoom sessions - these 4 weeks have flown by!

This class was based around the Gorgeous Grape Kit and we each created a Pizza Box Gift Package using the Positive Thoughts Stamp Set and Gorgeous Grape, Highland Heather and Basic Grey Inks and Card.

Here is my finished box, along with those my ladies made - please visit the comments and leave them all some love :-)

So that's it for this 'Class In The Mail'.  It was the first time doing classes this way, courtesy of Covid-19, but I've really enjoyed it, and so have my ladies.  I have already posted details of the next 'Class In The Mail' over on my Facebook Page and have others in the pipeline, so watch this space.

Don't forget my Annual Catalogue Launch Party on Wednesday 3rd June - more details can be found HERE - I hope to see you then.

In the meantime,

Funky Fold Friday - Buckle Fold Card

Today I ended up going back to the scary world of Facebook Live to record my Funky Fold Friday video.  I had a couple of days this week where I wasn't feeling too great so didn't get as far as making the pre-recorded video and I didn't want to leave you guys without one.  So, I went LIVE!  And remembered why I am so uncomfortable with this - eeek!

Anyhoo!  It's done, it's out there and I'll be going back to pre-recorded next week πŸ˜€!

The Buckle Fold is a variation of a card I made a few weeks ago - the Flap Fold Card.  I've watched lots of videos on this fold, but the one I took the measurements from for this card came from Lynn Dunn at Stamptastic Designs.  As an American Demonstrator, Lynn's measurements were for their 8 1/2 " x 11" cardstock, so I've adapted them for our A4 cardstock (measurements below the video).

One thing I did forget to show you in the video was how to attach the stamped panel over the 'Buckle'.  You need to do this with Stampin' Dimensionals as positioned in the photo below.

Here is the card I made completed - sadly, we are all making far too many cards like this right now  πŸ˜”

For the 6" x 4" Card you will need:-

Main Colour Card:-
  • 1 @ 8 3/4" x 4" scoring with the long side at the top of your trimmer at 6"
  • 1 @ 4 3/4" x 1 3/4" scoring with the long side at the top of your trimmer at 1/2"
Designer Series Paper:-
  • 1 @ 3 3/4" x 3" in design 1
  • 1 @ 3 3/4" x 2 1/2" in design 2
Whisper White Card:-
  • 1 @ 3 3/4" x 2 1/2"
  • 1 @ 2 1/2" x 2"
  • Scraps for any other decoration or sentiment you want to add
For the 5 3/4" x 5 3/4" Card you will need:-

Main Colour Card:-
  • 1 @ 9" x 5 3/4" scoring with the long side at the top of your trimmer at 3 1/4"
  • 1 @ 4 1/4" x 1 3/4" scoring with the long side at the top of your trimmer at 1/2"
Designer Series Paper:-
  • 1 @ 5 1/2" x 2 1/4" in design 1
  • 1 @ 5 1/2" x 3" in design 2
Whisper White Card:-
  • 1 @ 5 1/2" x 3""
  • 1 @ 3 1/2" x 2 1/4"
  • Scraps for any other decoration or sentiment you want to add
I'll add the lists of products used at the bottom.  If you'd like to purchase any of them, just click on the picture or link and it will take you to my shop or Click Here!!

So, that's it from me for now - don't forget to like (if you do) the video on YouTube and also to SUBSCRIBE to the Channel (and share it all with your crafty friends πŸ˜‰ )

Technique Tuesday - Water Stamping

Today's technique is a really simple one that anyone can do.  All you need is a piece of card, some ink pads, a background stamp with stamp block and a Stampin' Spritzer.  Your cardstock will get quite damp (bordering on wet) so it's a good idea to make a few background pieces at a time and either leave them to dry overnight (or at least for a few hours) before making up your project, or if you really can't wait, then you can use your heat tool to speed things up.

You can find the video showing you how to do this technique via this link or by clicking on the photo above - please leave me a comment on here and on YouTube as it all helps the video get out there.  If you like what you see, then don't forget to SUBSCRIBE to my YouTube Channel so you get the notifications when I post a new video.

This third card was made using the panel I stamped in the video - there is a list of products used at the end of this post, but you will also need the Covid-19 Give Back PDF which is available via www.covid19.stampinup.com

Thanks for joining me - if you do have a go at this technique then I'd love to see your projects.  You can post photos on my Facebook Page at www.facebook.com/magicladystamps
